We need to find an alternative fuel to replace convential petroleum products . Biofuel is a renewable fuel that can be produced from plant ☘️ or animal materials ,and is used as a substitute or partial substitute for fossil fuels . In the context of transport , biofuel are commonly used as substitutes for Gasoline and diesel respectively . There are many types of Biofuel such as ...
BIOETHANOL :: Bioethanol is a first generation of biofuel that helps to meet transportation fuel needs . Bioethanol is a type of alcohol obtained from different types of plant rich in cellulose such as sugarcane , sugar beet or some grains such as corn . Today the leading countries in the production and consumption of ethanol are Brazil , U.S and France . To generate electricity , a Bioethanol boiler is used in which the fuel is burned and water vapour generated makes a turbine turn that allows the energy to be produced .
With regards to transport Bioethanol is used similarly to Gasoline or Diesel , mixed in a certain percentage with the traditional fossil fuels to reduce the emission of green house gases .
Advantages of Bioethanol : : Bioethanol reduces CO2 emissions . It doesn't generate waste . It boosts the local economy.
BIODIESEL :: Biodiesel is a renewable ,Biodegradable fuel manufactured domestically from vegetable oil , animal fats or recycled restaurant grease .
Advantages of Biodiesel :: Biodiesel in its pure , unblended form causes farless damage than petrolium, diesel . It is safer than petrolium diesel because it is less combustible . The flash point for Biodiesel is higher than 130*C compared with about 52*C for petrolium diesel .
BIOGAS :: Biogas is a mixture of methane and Carbon dioxide produced by the decomposition of plant and animal waste , that is used as fuel . It is used in heating , electricity and automobiles .
Advantages of Biogas :: Being a renewable and clean energy sources , reducing waste and its environmental impact , and providing a sustainable and cost effective solution for energy needs in rural areas .
@ Residue from Biogas production can be used as a natural fertilizer improving soil health .
@ Reduces pollutants in the air and water as it can be used for energy generation instead of burning polluting materials like wood or fossil fuels .
@ Reduces Green house gas EMI by capturing methane released during the decomposition of organic waste , Biogas helps reduce methane emissions a potent green house gas .
BIOBUTANOL :: Biobutanol is a Tetra -Carbon alcohol produced from renewable biomass sources through microbial fermentation . It has several advantages over ethanol , including higher energy density and better compatibility .
BIOGAS is used in textile industries and perfumes .
BIOHYDROGEN :: Biohydrogen is a perfect alternative of fossil fuel . It is produced through biological process , typically by microorganisms like bacteria or algae . It is considered a clean , renewable fuel source as it is produced from organic matter or waste materials . This process can involve fermentation , biopholysis or other microbial medicated reaction .
Advantages of BIOHYDROGEN ::
@ It is a clean and renewable energy .
@ It can utilize agricultural waste and other biowaste , contributing to waste management .
